The Savannah-Chatham County Metropolitan Planning Commission has written an emergency access control ordinance which has ultimately been adopted by both The City of Savannah and Chatham County effective January 1, 2009. The ordinance mandates (retroactively) that all electromechanical gates, within the city and county, must be fitted with a public safety radio frequency-controlled, mutual-aid compatible emergency gate access control system. The Click2Enter-I emergency gate access control system from Click2Enter, Inc. has been chosen as to fulfill this mandate.

Mr. Stephen Lufburrow, Immediate Past Chairman of The Savannah-Chatham County Metropolitan Planning Commission said “I am pleased to have been able to work with the other members of the Planning Commission on this Ordinance which will provide universal access control for all of the various public safety agencies operating in our cities and county. ”

Mr. Lufburrow went on to say that he ”believes that the citizens, who live behind gates, will be even safer with the use of the Click2Enter because gate codes no longer will be needed to gain access, mutual agency operations are supported, and most importantly response times are improved.”
